Nokia N-Series vs. Android Phones
These days Nokia N-Gage phones no longer have a monopoly on mobile phone gaming. N-series has to compete with Apple iPhone 5 and Android OS based phones from HTC, Sony, Samsung and many other producers. Some of the best known and popular Android phones are Google Nexus S, different versions of HTC Desire, and Sony-Ericsson Xperia models.
In addition to special Android games and Java games there are literally thousands of classic console roms that can be played on Android tablets and phones using Android Emulator Apps. These include:
- GENSoid - SEGA Genesis Rom Emulator
- NESoid - Nintendo 8-bit NES Rom Emulator for Android Google Phones
- SNESoid - Super Nintendo SNES rom emu App for Tablets and GPhones
- GameBoid - Freeware Nintendo Gameboy Advance GBA Emulator software
and it is really a shame that so far there are no DS emulators for Android
HTC Desire
The HTC Desire has 3.7 inches of screen, AMOLED display and 480x900 resolution. These features are almost similar to those of Nexus One from Google. More similarities lie in their light metal casing. However, these two phones are different in terms of color. HTC Desire has a brown paint job on its top end. This was something unique to this phone before but some changes happened over time. Its looks do not really matter anymore.
The phone has an impressive 576MB memory and 1GHz Snapdragon processor. These are also features that are uniquely HTC Desire.
It has touch screen pad which is better than Nexus One’s roller ball navigation. Thus, you may find it better to invest in the HTC Desire kit despite how it looks like.
Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini and Mini Pro
Sony is one of the leading producers of phones, computers and other gadgets. It has just announced two new versions of its X10 model. It has the Xperia X10 Mini version which has the same size as a credit card. It also boasts of hot corners concept too. Its main convenience lies in its size as it can be used with one hand only.
Then, there is the Xperia X10 Mini Pro version that is a crossover between the X10 and Mini versions. It has the same size as the Mini but with X10’s 5mp camera, foldout QWERTY keyboard, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The size of these new Sony X10 versions is really impressive. It would be more convenient to carry around this phone on the pocket. Despite the almost similar features shared by these thee models, they still look different though with their distinct features. Thus, they can still have each a niche market.
